I don't feel comfortable letting him go to a family and he attacks their puppy or whatever because they wouldn't quit annoying him and getting in his face. He's fine with females and cats at first meeting but any show of aggression, or hostility toward him, or them just flat out constantly pestering him beyond what he finds tolerable. ---------- Gravel is a five year old, Dachshund/Pit mix. He's got the strength of a full bodied pit in a small body that stands awkwardly with the front legs due to the afformentioned Dachshund genes. His former owner sought me to find a home for him due to her no longer being able to care for him, since of his pit side making issues with the landlord and multiple others making assumptions about him. He has a big mouth and WILL bark at anyone walking up close to the house, or the slightest sound at the front door. He is sweet with people and while he will ignore cats, he's quick to bark if they do ANYTHING he thinks they shouldn't be and has a short temper enough with other animals that if they anger him, he will lunge. Gravel needs a family where he is the only pet. His dominance issues makes him try to dominate any dog bigger or his size. He also needs someone with the strength and patience to walk him, since he's muscular and pulls. He CAN be trained, as I have watched him listen to my dog trainer friend, but unless you have the stills AND the patience to deal with him purposely ignoring you, he's not for you. Someone who has a fenced in area to run in his better for him, but only needed if you aren't going to walk him every single day, tho would give him good stimulation to get out his energy.
