Two Halloween Crabs The tank is of adequate size because although they are community crabs, they love their solitude more. During the winter they are less active and stay in their burrows. They are active at night, usually around 2-4 am I hear them scuttle around. I tried giving them a variety of food like eggs, grapes, carrots but they never really went for it. They mainly eat kale and occasionally red cabbage. I threw in some cuttlebone for them to munch on to get calcium too. They are land animals but need a salt water and a fresh water dish.
