About this pet

4yrs old in Feb, rescue from Humane Society of St. Lucie, who is great with kittens, cats, all dogs, kids. UTD on shots and currently on flea/Tick monthly meds. background info: Jade was a rescue (*** at 1yr old), she was previously kept outside and was given up due to “shedding too much”. Jade was spayed following her heat cycle. why were rehoming: Jade assimilated into our family seamlessly these last two years and although she gets along with everyone in our household, she is retreating as the loud household of two young boys and an active family makes her retreat to her safe quiet space (our closet) so she would do well with a single owner, preferably female as she flinches and is wary of males due to what we can only assume is her past. she is not aggressive but physically inserts herself between my husband and I and will Yip when he shows me affection. she prefers one owner and a more laid back, quiet household. Crate Trained! Jade loves her crate and has no problem going in/out on demand as she does have anxiety when her owner has left the house and can be destructive. Current situation: Jade currently lives with a 7yr & 2yr old boy, 2 additional dogs (small, medium), and 2 cats all of which she basically ignores as she is well socialized. in her flea market and Home Depot outings she is neutral and ignores other dogs/distractions. Jade has some basic obedience (sit,stay,down) could use a little fine tunning low/medium drive and is food driven, she loves cheese! very low maintenance and is an angel when it comes to me cleaning her ears, bathing and dremel nail trimming… she just lays there We are to rehoming for the right fit as she has a lot of life left and does not seem to match the activity and excitement of our growing family. she’s not a fan of the hose but will dip her feet in a pool/beach more than happy to meet for introductions on neutral ground or answer any additional questions
